Jonathan Michael BoutcherQPM (born 10 October 1965) is a senior British police officer. He was appointed asChief Constable of thePolice Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) on 7 November 2023.[2][3] He served as interimChief Constable from 12 October 2023 whilst the recruitment process was ongoing to appoint someone permanently.[4][5][6][7][8] He was theChief Constable ofBedfordshire Police from 2015 until April 2019.[9] He also leadsOperation Kenova, a series of historical investigations into murders which occurred during the Troubles in Northern Ireland.[10][11]

Boutcher was a senior commander in the Metropolitan Police operation that sawJean Charles de Menezes shot dead in London in July 2005.[12]
