Johnny Lee Rembert (born January 19, 1961)[1] is an American former professionalfootball player who was alinebacker for 10 seasons with theNew England Patriots of theNational Football League (NFL). He playedcollege football for theClemson Tigers. Rembert was a member of the 1985 AFC champions who played theChicago Bears inSuper Bowl XX in New Orleans.[2] In the Wild Card Round of the 1985–86 NFL playoffs, he had a fumble recovery return for a touchdown against the New York Jets.[3] He was selected to the AFCPro Bowl team twice (1988 and 1989).[4][5] He won AFC Defensive Player of the Week in Week 10 of the 1988 season.[6]
After his playing career, Rembert was the director of athletics atEdward Waters College inJacksonville, Florida and also the quality control representative for the NFL.[7]
