John William "Zero" Drake (March 27, 1916 – March 26, 1973) was an American professionalfootball player who was arunning back for theCleveland Rams of theNational Football League (NFL). He playedcollege football for thePurdue Boilermakers. Drake was the first round pick (10th overall) by the Rams, their first everdraft pick, in the1937 NFL draft.[1] He led the NFL intouchdowns in the 1939 and 1940 seasons.
