John Tytell (born 1939) is an American writer and academic.[1] He is professor emeritus of modern American literature atQueens College, City University of New York.[2][3][1]
Tytell's works on literary figures such asJack Kerouac,Ezra Pound,[4]Allen Ginsberg,Henry Miller, andWilliam S. Burroughs have made him a leading scholar of theBeat Generation.[5] He has written for theAmerican Scholar,Partisan Review,New York Times, andVanity Fair.[1]
