John Pugh (June 2, 1761 – July 13, 1842) was a member of theU.S. House of Representatives fromPennsylvania.
Pugh was born inHilltown Township, Pennsylvania. He briefly served in theAmerican Revolutionary War as a captain in thePennsylvania militia. He engaged in agricultural and mercantile pursuits, and served asjustice of the peace. He was a member of thePennsylvania House of Representatives from 1800 to 1804.
Pugh was elected as aDemocratic-Republican to theNinth andTenth Congresses. He was an unsuccessful candidate for reelection in1808 to theEleventh Congress. He was register of wills andrecorder of deeds ofBucks County, Pennsylvania, from 1810 to 1821. He died inDoylestown, Pennsylvania and was buried in the Presbyterian Churchyard.
