John Nathaniel Ross (17 May 1920 – 24 December 2011) was an IrishFine Gael politician and lawyer who served as aSenator for theDublin University from 1961 to 1965.[1]

He was originally fromCounty Cork and married Ruth Isabel Cherrington.[2] He was elected toSeanad Éireann as anindependent member in 1961, by theDublin University constituency. He subsequently sat as aFine Gael member.[3] He lost his seat at the 1965 election.[3]

His sonShane Ross, is a former Senator for Dublin University, and was aTD forDublin Rathdown from 2011 to 2020, andMinister for Transport, Tourism and Sport.[4]
