John "Johnny" Koutroumbis (born 6 March 1998) is anAustralian professionalsoccer player who plays as aright back forScottish Premiership clubMotherwell.

Club career

Newcastle Jets

After initially signing withNewcastle Jets as an injury replacement forDaniel Alessi,[1] on 2 February 2017, Newcastle Jets signed Koutroumbis on a two-year deal.[2] He mutually terminated his contract with the club in July 2021.[3]

Western Sydney Wanderers

In July 2021, Koutroumbis joinedWestern Sydney Wanderers on a two-year deal.[4] After making 17 league appearances, his contract was mutually terminated in July 2022.[5]

Perth Glory

On 29 July 2022, Koutroumbis signed forPerth Glory on a two-year deal.[6] He made 40 appearances for the club, before departing at the end of the2023–24 season, upon the end of his contract, in order to pursue an overseas opportunity.[7]

Motherwell

On 15 June 2024, it was announced that Koutroumbis would joinScottish Premiership clubMotherwell on afree transfer on 1 July, signing a two-year contract.[8]

Personal life

Born in Australia, Koutroumbis is ofGreek descent.[9]

In 2018, Koutrombis was temporarily sidelined after being diagnosed withstage 1thyroid cancer.[8][9]
