John J. Dillon was Americancollege football player and coach andbaseball player. Dillon was a two-sport athlete atSyracuse University, playingquarterback for thefootball team from 1898 to 1900 andcatcher for thebaseball team.[1]

Coaching career

Dillon coached the1901Case School of Applied Science football team to a 2–7 record, which included a win over rivalWestern Reserve University.[2]

Baseball career

Dillon playedMinor League Baseball for five seasons on several teams, including on the championship 1903Jersey City Skeeters.[3]

Personal life

Dillon performed in theater for several years, including as early as 1905 for "The Awakening of Mr. Pipp."[4]
