John Hakizimana (born 26 October 1996)[1] is a Rwandanlong-distance runner. In 2018, he competed in the men's half marathon at the2018 IAAF World Half Marathon Championships held in Valencia, Spain.[1] He finished in 34th place.[1]
In 2019, herepresented Rwanda at the2019 Military World Games held in Wuhan, China.[2] He won the bronze medal in the men's marathon.[2]
Herepresented Rwanda at the2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo, Japan.[3] He competed in themen's marathon and he did not finish his race.[4]
In November 2023, Hakizimana was issued with a two-year ban by theAthletics Integrity Unit for an anti-doping rule violation after testing positive forTriamcinolone acetonide at the2023 World Athletics Championships after running the men's marathon.[5] His ninth place finish was disqualified.[6]
