John Currie Bruno Jr. (September 10, 1964 – April 13, 1992) was an American professionalfootballpunter who played one season for thePittsburgh Steelers of theNational Football League (NFL). He was selected in the fifth round of the 126th pick in the1987 NFL draft and playedcollege football at Penn State for thePenn State Nittany Lions football[1][2] where he won the national championship in 1986, theFiesta Bowl in 1987, and theAloha Bowl in 1983.[3]
Bruno Jr. was born on September 10, 1964, in Jeannette, Pennsylvania. He stood at 6'2, 190 pounds.[4] In December 1991, he was diagnosed withskin cancer. He died on April 13, 1992, inPittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The funeral was held atFirst Presbyterian Church inIrwin, Pennsylvania.[5]
