John Raymond Brosnan (7 October 1947 – 11 April 2005) was an Australian writer offantasy andscience fiction , as well asnon-fiction . He was born inPerth , Western Australia, and died inSouth Harrow ,London , fromacute pancreatitis .[ 1]
He sometimes published under the pseudonymsHarry Adam Knight ,Simon Ian Childer [ 2] (both sometimes used together withLeroy Kettle ),James Blackstone (used together withJohn Baxter ), andJohn Raymond . Three movies were based on his novels–Beyond Bedlam (akaNightscare ),Proteus (based onSlimer ), andCarnosaur . In addition to science fiction, he also wrote a number of books about cinema and was a regular columnist with the popular UK magazineStarburst [ 3] and comic2000 AD .[ 4]
