Jiwar al-Afas (Arabic:جوار العفص, also spelledJewar al-Afs) is a village in northernSyria located west ofHoms in theHoms Governorate. According to theSyria Central Bureau of Statistics, Jiwar al-Afas had a population of 385 in the 2004 census.[1] Its inhabitants are predominantlyGreek Orthodox andGreek CatholicChristians. The village has aGreek Orthodox Church and aGreek Catholic Church[2][3]
