Jimena V. Sánchez (bornJimena Sánchez Mejía Reyes; 28 September 1984)[1][2] is a Mexican sports journalist, television host and model. She is signed toFox Sports Mexico andFox Deportes, where she is best known for anchoring the programsLo Mejor de Fox Sports andWWE Saturday Night. She is the current host of AEW All Elite Show on Fox Sports Mexico.

Early life

Jimena Sánchez Mejía Reyes[3] was born on 28 September 1984 inMexico City. She was raised inVeracruz on theGulf of Mexico.[4] After a decade of living in Veracruz, she moved back to Mexico City to study acting at a university. She ultimately left the university without finishing her degree.[5]

Career

In 2008, Sánchez started a modeling blog with her best friend calledMad Mamacitas. The blog featured seductive photos of Sánchez and her friends, and went viral online.[6] After the blog was launched, she started working for the Mexican sports magazineRÉCORD,[7] and the sports websiteMedio Tiempo as a writer. She posted weekly columns and video blogs that soon got the attention of Fox Sports.[8][9]

Sánchez was signed toFox Sports Latin America in 2011. She began hosting the sports entertainment programFox Para Todos.[10] She currently hosts the sports entertainment programLo Mejor de Fox Sports,[11] and the wrestling news programWWE Saturday Night alongsideVero Rodríguez.[12] ThroughWWE Saturday Night, she has covered several editions ofWrestlemania,Summerslam,[13]Monday Night Raw,[14]SmackDown,[15] and live events across Mexico.[16]

In addition to coveringWorld Wrestling Entertainment, Sánchez also covers theNational Football League and theMajor League Baseball for Fox Sports Mexico. In 2019, she started hostingThursday Night Football segments for the football news programFox Impacto NFL.[17][18] She also hosts the baseball news programMLB en FOX. She has covered several editions of theSuper Bowl and theWorld Series.[19]

Sánchez has been featured in numerous magazines, includingSoHo,Open,ElHartista,[20] and on multiple covers ofEstiloDF.[21] In September 2019, she was featured on the cover of that month's issue ofMaxim Mexico.[22]

Sánchez played Mayte Cedeño in theHBO Latin America dramaCapadocia in 2008. She appeared in three episodes of the series. She also played Karla in the drama filmPelea de Gallos.[23]

Sánchez identifies as afeminist. In 2017, she helped launch Versus, a non-profit, non-government organization, co-founded by her colleagueMarion Reimers, devoted to combating gender, racial, and class discrimination in sports journalism.[24] Sánchez was featured in the organization's video launch alongside Reimers andVero Rodríguez, as they show how they're met with a string of harmful and sexist messages on their social media account because of their role as women in sports.[25][26]

Personal life

Sánchez is a huge fan of theLas Vegas Raiders,[27] and an avid supporter ofLiga MX football clubGuadalajara.[28] She is also a fan of theLos Angeles Lakers and theNew York Yankees.[29][30] She is a practicingChristian, and has several tattoos dedicated to her religion.[31]

On 1 October 2021, after some speculation, Sánchez revealed that she married singer-songwriter Tis Zombie.[32] The couple began their relationship in February of the same year.[33]
