Jim Irving Mooney (September 4, 1906 – April 27, 1979) was an AmericanMajor League Baseball player who playedpitcher from 1931 to 1934 for theSt. Louis Cardinals andNew York Giants.
In his 4 season ofMajor League Baseball (MLB) he compiled a 17–20win–loss record. He was a member of the World Series championship team in1934.[1]
DuringWorld War II, Mooney served as an officer in theUnited States Navy.[2] He was a professor and coach atEast Tennessee State University and was inducted into their athletic Hall of Fame in 1977.[2]
