James Thomas Gaffney Jr. (April 26, 1921 – August 9, 2015) was anAmerican footballquarterback in theNational Football League (NFL) for theWashington Redskins in 1945 and 1946.[1] In Week 3 of the 1946 season against Detroit, he scored a receiving touchdown from Sammy Baugh.[2] He playedcollege football at theUniversity of Tennessee and wasdrafted in the fifteenth round of the1944 NFL draft.[3]
