James Henry "Truck" Cullom (November 5, 1925 – March 4, 1998) was anAmerican footballguard in theNational Football League (NFL) for theNew York Yanks.
Cullom served in theUnited States Marine Corps duringWorld War II.[1] After the war, he playedcollege football at theUniversity of California, where he was a three-year lineman and placekicker from 1947–49, playing on two of coachPappy Waldorf's Rose Bowl teams.[1] Cullom was a first-team All-Coast tackle in 1949, and also played onCal's rugby team.[2]
Cullom was drafted in the 24th round of the1949 NFL draft and again in the seventeenth round of the1950 NFL draft by theWashington Redskins. After one season playing for theNew York Yanks, he was recalled by the Marines and was wounded in theKorean War. Cullom later returned to Cal where he worked as an assistant coach for both thefootball and rugby teams.[1]
Cullom was inducted into the University of California Athletic Hall of Fame in 1995.[2][3]
