Jill Quadagno

American sociologist

Jill S. Quadagno (born November 4, 1942) is Professor ofSociology atFlorida State University where she holds the Mildred andClaude Pepper Eminent Scholar Chair inSocial Gerontology. She has been a recipient of a Postdoctoral Fellowship from theNational Science Foundation, a National Science Foundation Visiting Professorship for Women, the Distinguished Scholar Award of theASA Section on Aging, aJohn Simon Guggenheim Fellowship, and anAmerican Council of Learned Societies Fellowship. In 1994 she served as Senior Policy Advisor on the President's Bipartisan Commission on Entitlement and Tax Reform, and in 1998 she served as president of theAmerican Sociological Association. She was elected to the Institute of Medicine in 2010.
