Jiang Ziwen (traditional Chinese:;simplified Chinese:蒋子文;pinyin:Jiǎng Zǐwén) was awei ofMoling (modernNanjing)county in China during theEastern Han dynasty.[1]

Originally fromGuangling, now a district ofYangzhou inJiangsu Province, he became addicted to wine and women, but was nonetheless recognized for his unusualphrenology. In the course of putting down an insurrection, he was killed by a blow to the forehead.

During theThree Kingdoms era, people repeatedly reported encountering his spirit, so thatSun Quan called him theGod ofBell Mountain (鐘山山神;钟山山神;Zhōngshān Shānshén), a peak near Nanjing which was then also known as Jiangshan (蔣山).

Following the introduction ofBuddhism to China and the popularization of itsking of the deadYama, Jiang was placed in charge of the first of theten courts in underworld as the Qin'guang King (;秦广王蒋;Qín'guǎng Wáng Jiǎng).
