Osvaldo Fernando Saturnino de Oliveira (born 14 January 1956), commonly known asJesus, is an Angolan formerfootball player and coach who played as astriker.
He mainly played forPetro de Luanda and theAngola national team, having also moved to Portugal atVarzim andOliveirense.
Jesus played youth football forClube Atlético de Luanda; he then began playing professionally in 1974 for local clubLuanda, before moving toBenfica de Luanda and Terra Nova.[1]
Jesus played over 10 years forPetro de Luanda.[1] He was top goalscorer of theGirabola three times with them,[2] in1982,1984 and1985.[3] In 1988, he moved to Portugal to play forVarzim aged 32, with whom he played two seasons.[2] Jesus then played one season forOliveirense,[2] retiring in 1990.[1]
Jesus was appointed interim coach of Petro de Luanda, following the death of coachGojko Zec, helping them win the league title in1995.[2]
After six terms as vice-president of theAngolan Football Federation, in 2016 Jesus announced his candidacy for president.[4]
Jesus and his partner got married inLuanda in 1983; they had a son, Hadja.[2] His idol is Portuguese footballerCristiano Ronaldo.[2]
