Jerry Starnes is an American politician serving the 88th district, which coversAutauga County andElmore County, in theAlabama House of Representatives. He is a member of theRepublican Party.[3]
He graduated fromPrattville High School in 1986. He then went into military service, where he served in the AlabamaArmy National Guard. He reached the rank of Lieutenant Colonel. He then earned abachelor's degree fromTroy University in 1991 in criminal justice and amaster's degree in justice and public safety fromAuburn University in 1996. He has worked as theAutauga County probation and parole district manager with the Alabama Bureau of Pardons and Paroles, as the executive security officer of the Governor's Mansion with theAlabama Department of Public Safety, and a correctional officer with theAlabama Department of Corrections. He has been a member of theAlabama National Guard Association, a committee chairman for theAlabama League of Municipalities, and a board member for thePrattville YMCA.[4]
He served three terms on the Prattville city council before his election to the House of Representatives.[5]
