Jeronimus Sweerts (1603–1636), was aDutch Golden Age still life painter.
He was born in Amsterdam as the son ofEmmanuel Sweerts, a botanist who published aflorilegium in 1612. He was a pupil ofAmbrosius Bosschaert the Elder and after his death in 1621, stayed on withBalthasar van der Ast, marrying Bosschaert's daughter Maria in 1627.[1] Sweerts was the father of the printmaker Hieronymus Sweerts (1629–1696).[1]
He died in Amsterdam.
