Jennifer Lame (born 1981/1982)[1] is an Americanfilm editor. She is known for her work onManchester by the Sea,Hereditary,Tenet,Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, and the films ofNoah Baumbach. In 2023, Lame editedChristopher Nolan'sOppenheimer, for which she won theAcademy Award for Best Film Editing. She is a native ofNarberth, Pennsylvania and is married to film producer Craig Shilowich.[2]

Early life

Jennifer Lame was born in 1981 or 1982 inPhiladelphia.[1] Her father is Tony Lame, a former contributor toThe Philadelphia Inquirer as well asKYW-TV. She attendedEpiscopal Academy and, in 2004, graduated fromWesleyan University.[1][3]

Career

Lame started editing films withPrice Check.[4] She has become a recurring collaborator onNoah Baumbach's films includingFrances Ha,[5]While We're Young,[6]Mistress America,[7]The Meyerowitz Stories,[8] andMarriage Story.[9] She also editedPaper Towns,[10]Manchester by the Sea,[11]Tyrel,[12]Hereditary,[13]Midsommar,[14]Tenet,[15]Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,[16]andOppenheimer.[17] Just before winning her first Oscar, she was namedTime's "Person of the Week" for her role as a prominent female editor.[18] In 2025, she served as editor for an"immersive" version of the 1939 filmThe Wizard of Oz forSphere inLas Vegas.[19]
