Jenia Grebennikov (born 13 August 1990) is a French professionalvolleyball player ofRussian descent who plays as a libero forZenit Saint Petersburg and theFrance national team. Grebennikov won a gold medal in themen's tournament at theOlympic GamesTokyo 2020 and is the2015 European Champion.[1]
Grebennikov was born inRennes,France. His father Boris Grebennikov is a former Soviet and Kazakh volleyball player and coach. He married his longtime girlfriend Wiem on 31 December 2018.[2]
In April 2015, he signed a contract with the Italian team,Cucine Lube Civitanova.[3]
Jenia Grebennikov debuted on theFrench national team in 2011. In 2014 he played at theWorld Championship 2014 held inPoland.[4] France lost the match for the bronze medal withGermany and took 4th place.[5] Grebennikov received an individual award for theBest Libero of the tournament.[6] On 18 October 2015 theFrench national team, including Grebennikov, achieved the title of theEuropean Champion 2015 (3–0 withSlovenia in the finale).[7] He was awardedBest Libero of the championships.
