TheJek people (/ˈɛk/ also speltJeks,Jeklilar (Azerbaijani:Ceklilər),Jack orDzhek people) are aNortheast Caucasian ethnic group inAzerbaijan.[1] The Jeks are one of the numerically smallShahdag peoples.[2] The Jeks are a part of the Shahdag group ofDagestani people, and inhabit the northeast of theAzerbaijan Republic andShahdag plateau of theGreat Caucasus. The historical motherland of the Jeks is theJek village ofQuba Rayon, and their native language isJek language, of the Northeast Caucasian family.[3][4]

The Jek people areSunni Muslims.[2]
