Jaylon Tate (born January 16, 1995) is an American professionalbasketball player forSzedeák of theNemzeti Bajnokság I/A. Tate playedcollege basketball for theUniversity of Illinois.
Tate attendedDe La Salle Institute for his first two years of high school and later transferred toSimeon Career Academy.[1] Along with teammatesJabari Parker andKendrick Nunn, Simeon won consecutiveIllinois High School Association state championships in 2012 and 2013.
After hisofficial visit toIllinois, Tate verbally committed to the program and former head coachJohn Groce in October 2012.[2] Tate played on theAAU circuit with the Meanstreets, coached byTai Streets.

At Illinois, Tate led his team in assists his sophomore year and assist to turnover ratio his senior year.[3] As a junior, Tate underwent surgery to repair a dislocated finger.[4] Tate was named All-Academic Big Ten during his junior and senior seasons.

In October 2017, Tate signed with theNiagara River Lions of theNational Basketball League of Canada (NBLC).[5] Following the2017–18 NBL Canada season, Tate was namedRookie of the Year, leading the league with 7.53 assists per game and also averaging 13.1 points per game.[6] He was also named to the Third Team All-NBLC.[7] In July 2018, Tate signed withPyrintö of the FinnishKorisliiga for the 2018–19 season.[8]
He spent part of the 2019–20 season with theLondon Lightning, playing 5 games with the team. In October 2021, Tate joined theSanta Cruz Warriors of theNBA G League after a successful tryout.[9] However, he was waived on December 17.[10] Three days later, he was claimed off waivers by theSouth Bay Lakers.[11] On December 22, 2021, Tate was waived by theSouth Bay Lakers.
On January 3, 2022, Tate was acquired by theMemphis Hustle of theNBA G League.[12] However, before joining Memphis, he returned toLondon Lightning.[13]
On December 6, 2024, Tate signed withSzedeák of theNemzeti Bajnokság I/A.[14]
