Jayden Hibbert (born 5 August 2004) is a professionalfootballer who plays forMajor League Soccer clubAtlanta United. Born in the United States, he has represented Jamaica at international level.
Hibbert played youth soccer with ODP, Next Gen, theNew York Red Bulls Academy, and theCedar Stars Academy.[1]
In 2022, Hibbert began attending theUniversity of Connecticut, where he played for themen's soccer team.[1] During the 2023 season, he was named theBig East Conference Goalkeeper of the Week twice.[1] After the 2023 season, he was invited to attend the MLS College Showcase.[2]
Hibbert played with theCedar Stars Rush inUSL League Two in 2021 and 2022.[3][4]
At the2024 MLS SuperDraft, Hibbert was selected in the first round (19th overall) byAtlanta United FC.[5][6] In January 2024, he signed a professional contract with their second team,Atlanta United 2, inMLS Next Pro.[7][8] In June 2024, he was sent on loan to theBirmingham Legion in theUSL Championship for the remainder of the 2024 season.[9][10] He made his debut for Birmingham on June 19, posting a clean sheet in a 3-0 victory overSan Antonio FC.[11] On July 10, he was recalled from his loan by Atlanta.[12][13]
Ahead of the 2025 season, he was promoted to a first-team contract withAtlanta United FC.[14] On July 13, 2025, he made hisMajor League Soccer debut with the first team againstToronto FC.[15][16]
Hibbert was born in the United States to a Jamaican father, and Canadian mother; he also holds Ukrainian roots through his maternal grandparents who emigrated to Canada. He holds Canadian, American and Jamaican citizenship, and is eligible for their national teams.[17]
In March 2024, he was called up to theJamaica national team for a pair of friendlies againstTrinidad and Tobago.[18][19] He made appearances in both matches.[20]
In August 2025, he was called up to theCanada national team for a pair of friendlies in September.[21]
