Javier "Javi" Pérez Mateo (born 14 August 1995) is a Spanishfootballer who plays as acentral midfielder forPrimera Federación clubTenerife.
Born inCabanillas del Campo,Guadalajara,Castile-La Mancha, Pérez was aCD Guadalajara youth graduate. After making his senior debut withthe reserves, he made his first team debut on 8 December 2013, coming on as a latesubstitute forÁlvaro Zazo in a 4–0Segunda División B home routing ofCP Cacereño.[1]
On 11 July 2014, Pérez extended his contract until 2017.[2] He was an ever-present figure duringthe season, as his side missed out promotion inthe play-offs.
On 15 July 2015, Pérez signed a three-year contract withUD Almería, being initially assigned tothe B-team also in the third level.[3] On 31 August 2017 he moved to anotherreserve team,Real Valladolid B in the same division.[4]
On 6 June 2018, Pérez renewed his contract with Valladolid until 2019.[5] The following day, he made hisfirst team debut by coming on as a latesubstitute forAnuar Tuhami in a 3–1 home win againstSporting de Gijón, in theSegunda Divisiónplay-offs.[6]
On 10 August 2019, Pérez signed forUD Ibiza still in division three,[7] and was a regular starter as his side achieved a first-ever promotion to the second level in2021. He terminated his contract with the club on 29 August 2022,[8] and joinedBurgos CF in the second level the following day.[9]
After struggling with injuries which kept him out for the entire2022–23 season, Pérez terminated his link with theBlanquinegros on 16 August 2023.[10] On 18 November, he signed forAD Alcorcón after a trial period.[11]
On 31 July 2024, aftersuffering relegation withAlkor, Pérez agreed to a one-year deal withSD Huesca also in division two.[12]
