Jason Kevin Pearcey (born 23 July 1971) is an English former professionalfootballer and former first team goalkeeping coach atDerby County
As a player he was agoalkeeper from 1989 until 2006. He played in theFootball League forMansfield Town,Grimsby Town andBrentford before ending his career in theConference National withForest Green Rovers. He came out of retirement the following year and continued to play at non-league level forSoutham United,Leamington andRugby Town.
Pearcey started his professional career atMansfield Town at the age of 18 (although being with the club since age 15). He left to joinGrimsby Town with a £10,000 transfer fee and stayed for three and a half years before aBosman ruling transfer toBrentford where Jason played for two and a half years.
It was during the 2000–01 season that he sustained a bad leg injury which ended his professional career although he made three appearances forConference NationalForest Green Rovers. He has since then kept playing at non-league level making appearances atSoutham United, his home town teamLeamington and his last club theSouthern League Premier sideRugby Town.
Jason is now specialises in goalkeeper coaching inWorcestershire and the West Midlands. He is qualified to Level 3 Outfield and Level 3 Goalkeeping status. Pearcey in 2009, started working inDerby County'sacademy as a goalkeeping coach,[2] he stayed in this role until November 2020 when he was promoted first team Goalkeeping coach at replacingShay Given, withWayne Rooney becoming Derby's manager.[3] Pearcey would retain his role whenLiam Rosenior took over as interim manager in June 2022, but would leave Derby on 27 September 2022, after Rosenior departed the club.[4] Pearcey does coaching for soccer academy Just4Keepers.
