Jasmine Jones (born November 30, 2001) is an Americantrack and field athlete.[1] She was the silver medalist in the400 m hurdles at the2025 World Championships and competed at the2024 Summer Olympics, finishing fourth in the final.

Jones previously won the gold medal at the2019 Pan American U20 Championships in the100 m hurdles and was runner-up in the60 m hurdles at the2024 USA Indoor Track and Field Championships.

Early life

Daughter ofHenry Jones, an NFL All-Pro safety for the Buffalo Bills from 1991 to 2000, and Joanna Cox Jones, an NCAA D1 sprinter, Jones attendedGreater Atlanta Christian School and won a national age-group title, over400 m hurdles, in 2016.[2] She was named the Georgia female track and field athlete of the year in 2019.[3]

Jones won gold in the100 m hurdles at the2019 USATF U20 Outdoor Championships inMiramar, Florida in June.[4] She then won gold in the same event at the2019 Pan American U20 Athletics Championships inSan Jose, Costa Rica in July 2019.[5]

Jones ran track at college forUSC Trojans with whom she claimed anNCAA Outdoors title in the4 × 100 m relay in her first year of 2021.[6] The following year, she was runner-up in theNCAA Outdoors 100 m hurdles in a personal best time of 12.66 seconds.[7]

2024: Olympic debut

Jones finished as runner-up in the60 m hurdles at theUS National Indoors Championships inNew Mexico in February 2024, running a personal best time of 7.82 seconds.[8][9] Competing at theNCAA Indoor Championships inBoston, Massachusetts, she won the 60 metres hurdles final in a personal best time of 7.77 seconds.[10][11]

She won the 400 m hurdles at the NCAA Championships inEugene, Oregon in June 2024 in 53.15 seconds.[12] Later that month, she ran a personal best 52.77 seconds to finish third in the 400 metres hurdles at theUS Olympic trials.[13]

Jones placed fourth at the2024 Olympic Games in the 400 m hurdles with a time of 52.29 seconds, which was a personal best as well as aUS collegiate record.[14]

2025: World Championships silver medalist

Announced for the inaugural season of theMichael Johnson foundedGrand Slam Track,[15] She was the slam winner at the2025 Philadelphia Slam in the long hurdles category after finishing second in both the 400 metres hurdles and 400 metres races.[16] She ran 53.18 seconds to finish second toFemke Bol in the 400 metres hurdles at the2025 London Athletics Meet, part of the2025 Diamond League, on 19 July.[17]

She placed third in the final of the 400 metres hurdles at the2025 USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships.[18] She also placed third in the 400 metres hurdles on 16 August in the Diamond League at the2025 Kamila Skolimowska Memorial, in Poland.[19]

Jones was selected for the American team for the2025 World Athletics Championships inTokyo, Japan, winning the silver medal in the 400 metres hurdles, running a personal best time of 52.08 seconds.[20][21]
