Jasmine Amy Rogers (born March 9, 1999)[1] is an American actress and singer. She began her professional career in 2019 in musical theatre roles and first worked with directorJerry Mitchell when she created the dual role of Frances Bassey and Gloria Gaynor in the premiere ofBecoming Nancy at theAlliance Theatre inAtlanta, Georgia. She toured the US for a year from 2022 to 2023 as Gretchen Wieners inMean Girls. After this, Rogers created the title role inBoop! The Musical in Chicago in 2023. She then played Anita inJelly's Last Jam at thePasadena Playhouse in 2024.
Rogers made herBroadway debut starring inBoop! in 2025. For her performance in the show, she won aDrama Desk Award for Outstanding Lead Performance in a Musical,[2] anOuter Critics Circle Award for Outstanding Lead Performer in a musical and aTheatre World Award, and she was nominated for theTony Award for Best Actress in a Musical, among other accolades.
Rogers was born inBoston, Massachusetts. Her mother, Jacquelyn, is a pharmacist.[3] Her family moved toRichmond, Texas, in 2010. At age 7, her first role was as a member of Tiger Lily's tribe inMilford Performing Arts Center's production ofPeter Pan.[4][5] She graduated fromAustin High School nearHouston, Texas, in 2017, where she won aTheatre Under the StarsTommy Tune Award for best actress as the Witch inInto the Woods.[3][6] Soon afterwards, she was a 2017Jimmy Awards finalist.[7]

Rogers studied musical theatre atManhattan School of Music for two years from 2017 to 2019, leaving when she began to book professional acting work, including creating the dual role of Frances Bassey and Donna Summer in the 2019 premiere ofBecoming Nancy, directed byJerry Mitchell at theAlliance Theatre inAtlanta, Georgia.[4][8] After this, she played Melody Green inPaper Mill Playhouse's 2022 production of theDion DiMucci bio-musicalThe Wanderer.[9] Between shows, she worked as a babysitter and restaurant hostess.[10] She next played Gretchen Wieners, from May 2022 to May 2023, in the US national tour ofMean Girls.[11]
After additional tap dance classes,[12][13] Rogers created the role ofBetty Boop inBoop! The Musical, directed by Mitchell, in Chicago in 2023.[14] As Anita inJelly's Last Jam at thePasadena Playhouse in May and June 2024, Rogers was "a sultry siren ... singing with the buttery vocals of a jazz chanteuse."[15] A May 2025 feature on Rogers inThe New York Times concludes that playing Anita was a learning experience that "likely helped strengthen Rogers's performance of Betty [Boop], making it simultaneously more personal and more universal."[16] Rogers made herBroadway debut starring inBoop! in March 2025, and she appears on the cast album, which was released in June 2025.[17][18]Boop! closed on July 13, 2025.[19] Rogers was widely praised for her charismatic and vocally strong performance.[20] Frank Rizzo, in hisVariety review, wrote: "Rogers is a delightful embodiment of Betty, a cartoon that she makes just human enough with warmth, vulnerability and pluck."[21] For her performance in the role, Rogers won theDrama Desk[2] andOuter Critics Circle Awards for Best Leading Actress,[22] was honored with aTheatre World Award,[23] and was nominated for aTony Award,[24] and aDrama League Award.[25]
In late July 2025, she gave a solo concert as part of the Broadway by the Boardwalk series atHudson River Park.[26] Beginning in November, she is appearing as Olive inThe 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Beeoff-Broadway atNew World Stages.[27] According to Matt Windman ofAMNY, Rogers gives "a performance so vulnerable it nearly re-centers the musical around her".[28] After this, Rogers is set to appear as Queenie in theEncores! production ofThe Wild Party atNew York City Center from March 18 to 29, 2026.[29]
