Japanese hardcore is thehardcore punk scene inJapan, which originated to protest the social and economic changes sweeping the country in the 1980s. The bandSS is regarded as the first, forming in 1977.[1] Bands such asThe Stalin andGISM soon followed, forming in 1980 and 1981 respectively. Occasionally, Japanese hardcore musicians include elements ofavant-garde,crossover thrash,thrash metal,anarcho-punk,horror punk,D-beat,post-hardcore andgrindcore in their songs.
