Jannike Kruse (born 16 June 1975) is aNorwegian singer, artist and actor. Daughter of Professor and composerBjørn Howard Kruse[1] and Professor and author Gro Shetelig, sister ofAnine andBenedikte Kruse known from thevocal groupPitsj, niece toPhilip Antony Kruse and grand child of Colonel Erling Kruse, as well as teacher in music and piano Else Grieg Shetelig.


Kruse was born inOslo and started playing the piano at the age of 6. She sang inNRK's Girls' Choir, danced ballet, and joinedElisabeth Gordings Barne- og Ungdomsteaterskole while at primary school. She joined the music program atFoss videregående skole in Oslo 1991. She got the main role of Sonja in the playReisen til Julestjernen at theNationaltheatret in Oslo 1993, becoming the youngest Sonia ever at theNationaltheatret. She continued to play the role in 1994, before starting studies in music pedagogy and singing atNorges Musikkhøgskole in 1995. She applied forArtisten inGothenburg (Högskolan för Teater, Opera och Musikal), and earned a bachelor there in 2001. Before ending her studies atArtisten, she got the role asAnnie Oakley in the musicalAnnie Get Your Gun atRiksteatret, coming up the next season (2002). Meanwhile, (in 2001) she played the title role in the newly writtenDen syngende Frk Detektiv inFredrikstad, and played a part in the success seriesNissene på låven onTV Norge.[2][3]
Kruse has played several main roles and some minor roles at different theaters in Norway, among themReisen til Julestjernen,Hair (Det Norske Teatret),Fame,Annie get your gun (Riksteatret ogTrøndelag Teater),[4][5]Den syngende Frøken Detektiv (Oslo Nye Teater),Keisaren av Portugalia,Musical Musikal! (Det Norske Teatret), andSpellemann på taket (Fiddler on the roof) atOslo Nye Teater with among othersDennis Storhøi andAlexander Rybak as co-acters.[6][7][8] She was trained at Norwegian College Music in Oslo, and College Theater inGothenburg.[1] She has also contributed in different TV series[9] and some motion pictures, as well as given voice to a series of well knowncartoon characters inNorwegian version.[10][11] Kruse has performed with many big orchestras and choirs around the world.[2][12] She has also done somedubbing jobs.[13][14]
In December 2001 she was one of the fictive participantMarthe in the Christmas calendar seriesNissene på låven (TV Norge). She played a minor part in the TV seriesDet var en gang et eventyr onNRK1 2008, and did at the same period takes for a TV series byNordisk Film of one ofUnni Lindells books aboutCato Isaksen. Here she played a main character as Police investigatorRandi Johansen.[15] In 2010 she played the characterMerete in thecomedy filmA Somewhat Gentle Man, directed byHans Petter Moland and withStellan Skarsgård asUlrik.[8][16][17][18][19][20][21][22]
Lately Kruse Jåtog has done some acting atAgder Teater with more modern pieces.[23] She recently played the role as Annika Brennhagen, in NRK s success drama series "Hjem" (means Home), in 16 episodes (2 seasons) of 45 mins each.
Her debut album as a solo singer artist was the recordJannike Kruse – Med Andre Ord, 2009.[24] She has been joined by, among others, the text writersJan Eggum,Ingrid Bjørnov,Anita Skorgan andSilje Nergaard, and she has even dared to show off her own songs and lyrics – in Norwegian.[25][26] In 2005 she made an album with children's songs,Kjente, kjære og noen glemte barnesanger, withForsvarets musikkorps Trøndelag.[27][28][29][30]
