On 12 July 2019, Jang joinedSaudi Pro League clubAl-Hilal on a three-year contract.[4] During the2019–20 season, he played an important role in Al-Hilal'scontinental treble.[5]

In 2021, he suppressedPohang Steelers' attack excellently in theAFC Champions League Final, achieving his second Champions League title.[6]

After Jang led Al-Hilal to three consecutive league titles, they extended the contract with him for one more year on 29 June 2022.[7]

However, he had difficulty defendingReal Madrid's attack in theClub World Cup final, and failed to prevent his team's 5–3 defeat.[10]

On 26 September, Jang was diagnosed withlymph node tumor, which led the club to cancel a contract extension with him. He returned to South Korea for treatment.[11] On 23 November, he joinedQatar Stars League clubAl-Gharafa.[12]
