Dutch football referee

Jan Willem Wegereef (born 17 January 1962 inRijssen) is a former top-level Dutch football (soccer) referee, living inHellevoetsluis. He refereed one match at the2002 World Cup[1] and has officiated a total of 12UEFA Champions League matches (as of 6 November 2006). As of 2008, he had officiated in 42 matches across all UEFA competitions.[2] He also officiated the2006–07 Saudi Premier League final.

Wegereef officiated in numerous international competitions, including the1999 FIFA World Youth Championship[3] and qualifying matches for the2002 World Cup,[4]2006 World Cup,[5]Euro 2000,[6] andEuro 2008.[7] He is known to have served as aFIFA referee during the period from 1996[8] to 2007.[7]
