Johannes Hendrikus Olde Riekerink (born 22 February 1963) is a Dutch professionalfootball coach and former player who is the head coach ofLiga 1 clubDewa United.
His brotherEdwin was also a professional player.[4]
Born inHengelo, Olde Riekerink played professionally forSparta Rotterdam,Dordrecht andTelstar between 1985 and 1993.[5]
Riekerink worked atAjax as a youth coach from 1995 to 2002. He later managed Belgian clubGent and Dutch clubEmmen, and has also been assistant manager at Portuguese clubPorto and Ukrainian clubMetalurh Donetsk. He was appointed Head of Youth Development ofJong Ajax in April 2007.[6] on 15 June it was announced that Riekerink would give up his position at the club after irreconcilable differences with new board memberJohan Cruyff.[7]
He became manager of Turkish clubGalatasaray in March 2016.[8] Under Riekerink, Galatasaray won the2015–16 Turkish Cup, beatingFenerbahçe 1−0 in thefinal on 26 May 2016.[9] He was sacked in February 2017.[10]
He was manager of Dutch clubHeerenveen from 2018 to April 2019.[11][12]
On 6 November 2019, he was presented as the new coach of South African clubCape Town City.[13] He left the role on 21 May 2021.[14] Later that month he signed a three-year contract with Turkish clubİskenderunspor to become their CEO.[15]
In January 2023 he became head coach of Indonesian clubDewa United.[16] Under Riekerink, the club finished as runners-up in the2024–25 Liga 1 season, qualifying for the2025–26 AFC Challenge League for the first time in the club's history.[17]
