Jan Barták is a formerice dancer who representedCzechoslovakia. WithJana Beránková, he is the1981 Prague Skate champion, the1981 NHK Trophy bronze medalist, the 1982Ennia Challenge Cup silver medalist, and a two-timeCzechoslovak national champion. The duo finished in the top ten at fourISU Championships1981 Europeans inInnsbruck, Austria;1981 Worlds inHartford, Connecticut, United States;1982 Europeans inLyon, France; and1982 Worlds inCopenhagen, Denmark.

Beránková/Barták teamed up in 1978 and competed together for four seasons. Earlier in his career, Barták skated with Eva Štolfová and Ivana Dírerová. His skating club was TJ StadionBrno.[1]
