James Le Gros (/ləˈɡr/)[1] (born April 27, 1962) is an American actor. He was nominated for theIndependent Spirit Award for Best Supporting Male for his role inLiving in Oblivion.

Career

Le Gros starred inGus Van Sant's filmDrugstore Cowboy and had a supporting role forLiving in Oblivion, where he played Chad Palomino, a self-centered actor with endless "a-list" star demands for a "b-movie" director and crew. He had a prominent role oppositePatrick Swayze andKeanu Reeves in the 1991 action adventure filmPoint Break as bank robber, Roach. Le Gros appeared onShowtime'sSleeper Cell (as Special AgentRay Fuller) and onLaw & Order. He was also a cast member on the television seriesAlly McBeal and guest-starred onRoseanne,Punky Brewster,The Outer Limits, andFriends. He portrayed Dr. Dan Harris on theNBC seriesMercy.[2] Le Gros portrayed Peter Gray in the Dark Sky thrillerBitter Feast.[3]

He is the first actor to appear on TV as Deputy United States MarshalRaylan Givens in the TV filmPronto, based on a book byElmore Leonard. Le Gros also appeared on the TV seriesJustified (which centers on Givens) as antagonist Wade Messer.

Personal life

Le Gros married actress and photographerKristina Loggia, daughter of actorRobert Loggia, in 1992. They have two sons; their son Noah LeGros is also an actor.[4]
