James Assion Wright (August 11, 1902 – November 7, 1963) was an American lawyer and politician fromPennsylvania who served two terms in theU.S. Congress from 1941 to 1945.
Wright was born inCarnegie,Pennsylvania on August 11, 1902. He graduated from theCollege of the Holy Cross inWorcester, Massachusetts in 1923 and from theUniversity of Pittsburgh School of Law inPittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1927.
He served as assistant county solicitor ofAllegheny County, Pennsylvania from 1935 to 1941.
In 1940, Wright was elected as a Democrat to the77th United States Congress, then reelected to the78th United States Congress in 1942. He was an unsuccessful candidate for reelection in1944.
Wright died in Scott Township on November 7, 1963 at the age of 61. His body was interred at Holy Souls Cemetery in Carnegie, Pennsylvania.
