American professional wrestler (born 1989)
Jacob Doyle [ 5] (born July 25, 1989)[ 7] [ 6] is an Americanprofessional wrestler . He is signed toAll Elite Wrestling (AEW), where he performs under his real name, stylized asJake Doyle , and is a member of theDon Callis Family . He also currently makes appearances on theindependent circuit . He is best known for his two tenures inTotal Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA), where he wrestled under the ring nameJake Something .[ 4]
Professional wrestling career [ edit ] Independent circuit (2010–present)[ edit ] Doyle was trained byROH Dojo .[ 6] He made hisprofessional wrestling debut at an Insanity Pro Wrestling (IPW) event on January 2, 2010, losing to Chris Hall.[ 8] In the ensuing years Doyle worked for national companies such asRing of Honor (ROH) and theNational Wrestling Alliance (NWA), andindependent promotions such asAAW Wrestling (AAW), andBorder City Wrestling (BCW).[ 9]
Impact Wrestling (2017–2022)[ edit ] He first appeared on the March 23, 2017 episode ofImpact! under thering name Jake Holmes, where he lost toBobby Lashley .[ 3] He had two more matches forImpact Wrestling as anenhancement talent the following month.[ 10] [ 11]
On March 9, 2018, at theLast Chancery event that featured Impact Wrestling and Border City Wrestling wrestlers, Doyle, now known as Jake Deaner, formed atag team withCody Deaner called "The Deaners", losing to Desi Hit Squad (Gursinder Singh andRohit Raju ).[ 12] [ 13] In April 2019, he officially signed a contract with Impact Wrestling.[ 14] Later that month, vignettes began airing of The Deaners on their farm called The Deaner Compound.[ 15] [ 16] [ 17] The Deaners made theirImpact! debut on the April 26 episode, defeating Idris Abraham and Joe Coleman.[ 18] The following month, his ring name was changed to Cousin Jake.[ 19] AtBound for Glory , Jake took part in theCall Your Shot Gauntlet match , where the winner could choose anychampionship match of their choice, which was won byEddie Edwards .[ 20] On the May 26, 2020 episode ofImpact! , The Deaners failed to win theImpact World Tag Team Championship fromThe North (Ethan Page andJosh Alexander ) at The Deaner Compound.[ 21] [ 22] On the Countdown toBound for Glory , The Deaners defeatedThe Rascalz (Dez andWentz ).[ 23]
AtTurning Point , Jake and Cody were attacked byEric Young andJoe Doering .[ 24] [ 25] During the following weeks, The Deaners feuded with Young and Doering and this resulted in a match between Cody and Young on the December 8 episode ofImpact! , which Young won.[ 26] AtFinal Resolution , Cody attacked Jake during a match betweenRhino and Young, thus ending The Deaners tag team.[ 27] [ 28]
Jake then began a feud withViolent By Design , astable that Cody, now known as Deaner, joined.[ 29] AtHard To Kill on January 16, 2021, Jake teamed with Rhino andTommy Dreamer in a loss to Violent By Design in anOld School Rules match .[ 30] Cousin Jake would change his ring name to Jake Something and defeated Deaner in asingles match atNo Surrender [ 31] [ 32] and in atables match on the February 23 episode ofImpact! .[ 33]
On the August 5 episode ofImpact! , Something defeatedTrey Miguel ,Daivari , andRohit Raju in afour-way match to become the number one contender to theImpact X Division Championship .[ 34] [ 35] AtEmergence , Something received his championship match againstJosh Alexander , where he was unsuccessful in capturing the title.[ 36] On September 18 atVictory Road , Something competed in a five-way scramble match to determine the number one contender to the X Division Championship, which was won byLaredo Kid .[ 37] On November 17, he participated in a number one contenders match to theImpact Digital Media Championship , which was won byChelsea Green .[ 38]
On January 8, 2022, Something defeatedMadman Fulton on theCountdown to Hard To Kill pre-show.[ 39] On the February 3 episode ofImpact! , he teamed with Fulton,Ace Austin , andMike Bailey for an eight-man tag team match againstBullet Club (Jay White ,Chris Bey ,Tama Tonga , andTanga Loa ) in a losing effort.[ 40] AtNo Surrender , Something defeated Austin, Bey, and Bailey in a four-way match to become the number one contender for the X Division Championship.[ 41] On March 5 atSacrifice , Something fought againstTrey Miguel for the title in a losing effort.[ 42] Two days later, Something announced on hisTwitter account that he is no longer with Impact Wrestling.[ 43]
All Elite Wrestling (2022)[ edit ] Following his departure from Impact Wrestling, Jake Something would make appearances forAll Elite Wrestling . Something made his AEW debut on the May 5 episode ofAEW Dark , losing toJay Lethal . Something would later make two other appearances, losing toMatt Sydal on the June 28 episode of Dark andDanhausen on the July 7 episode of Dark.
New Japan Pro Wrestling (2022)[ edit ] Jake Something made hisNJPW debut on June 18 episode ofNJPW Strong , losing toBrody King . Something would make three more appearances with the company, losing to the likes ofEddie Kingston ,Juice Robinson , andShingo Takagi .
Return to Impact/Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (2023–2026)[ edit ] Something made his return to Impact atSlammiversary , losing toKushida in the Ultimate X match to determine the number one contender for the X-Division Championship. On August 27 atEmergence , Something would face theIWGP World Heavyweight Champion ,Sanada , in a losing effort. AtBound for Glory , Something competed in aCall Your Shot Gauntlet match , which would be won byJordynne Grace .[ 44]
On January 13, 2024, atHard to Kill , Something would team withPCO andRhino to defeat the team ofDirty Dango ,Oleg Prudius , and Alpha Bravo.[ 45] On the January 18 episode ofTNA Impact! , Something would win the first match on the newly rebranded show, which was a six-manX Division scramble. On the March 21 episode ofImpact! , Something would win the 'Rebellion Referendum' six-pack challenge to challenge Mustafa Ali for the X Division Championship atRebellion . At the event, Something would face Ali in a losing effort.[ 46] On the May 16 episode ofImpact! , Something attacked Deaner and turned heel.[ 47] AtSlammiversary , Something lost toMike Santana . AtBound for Glory , Something competed in the 20-personCall Your Shot Gauntlet which was won byFrankie Kazarian . AtFinal Resolution , Something andHammerstone were originally scheduled to competed in a Three-way tag team match againstThe Rascalz (Trey Miguel andZachary Wentz ) andPCO andSami Callihan but Hammerstone was unable to compete due to an injury leaving Something on his own but lost the match.
On January 19, 2025 atTNA Genesis Jake Something defeatedAshante "Thee" Adonis .[ 48] AtEmergence , Somthing lost toSteve Maclin in aNo Disqualification match failing to win theTNA International Championship . AtBound for Glory , Something competed in 22-person Intergender Call Your Shot Gauntlet failing to win the match. AtTurning Point , Something defeatedThe Home Town Man andMance Warner in a Three-way match.
His final match in TNA took place on the December 25 episode ofImpact! , Something,Jessie McKay ,Mance Warner ,Ryan Nemeth andRosemary lost to BDE,Cassie Lee ,Dezmond Xavier ,Eric Young and Mara Sadè in aten-person mixed tag team match as his contract would expire on January 1, 2026, ending second tenure with the promotion.[ 49]
Return to AEW (2026–present)[ edit ] On the January 7, 2026 episode ofDynamite , it was announced that Doyle, as "Jake Doyle", had signed with AEW and joined theDon Callis Family after attacking JetSpeed (Kevin Knight and"Speedball" Mike Bailey ) off-screen.[ 50] [ 51] The following week atDynamite : Maximum Carnage , Doyle teamed with stablemateMark Davis to win afour-way tag team match to earn anAEW World Tag Team Championship opportunity.[ 52] On the January 28 episode ofDynamite , Doyle and Davis unsuccessfully challengedFTR (Cash Wheeler andDax Harwood ) for the tag titles. It was later reported that Doyle suffered a torn bicep during the match, leaving him out of action for 3-6 months.[ 53]
