Jaiyden Hunt (born 20 July 1998) is an Australianrugby league footballer who plays as alock, second-row forward for theBrisbane Broncos in theNational Rugby League (NRL).
Hunt was born inBrisbane, Queensland, Australia.
Hunt hasAmerican heritage through his grandmother.
He played his junior rugby league with St Brendans Brothers and theEasts Tigers before being signed by theMelbourne Storm.[2]
Hunt attendedSt Thomas More College, Sunnybank for his secondary education.
In 2014, Hunt played for theEasts Tigers in theCyril Connell Cup before moving up to theirMal Meninga Cup team in 2015.[3][4]
In 2016 and 2017, Hunt played for theMelbourne Storm in theHolden Cup.[5][6] In 2018, he re-joined the Easts Tigers, playing in theQueensland Cup andHastings Deering Colts.[7][8][9]
In 2021, Hunt joined theSt. George Illawarra Dragons on a train and trial contract and began playing for theirNSW Cup team.[10][11]
In Round 11 of the2021 NRL season, Hunt made hisNRL debut forSt. George Illawarra against fierce rivalsCronulla-Sutherland atKogarah Oval.[12]
In round 15 of the2023 NRL season, Hunt scored his firstNRL try forSt. George Illawarra Dragons againstSouth Sydney Rabbitohs in a 36–30 win atKogarah Oval.
Hunt played five matches for Brisbane in the2024 NRL season which saw the club miss the finals finishing 12th on the table.[13]
