Jacobaea is agenus offlowering plants in the tribeSenecioneae and the familyAsteraceae. Its members used to be placed in the genusSenecio,[2] but have been separated into thesegregate genusJacobaea on the basis ofmolecular phylogenetics in order to maintain genera that aremonophyletic.[3]
