Jacob "Jaap" Stockmann (born 24 July 1984) is a retired Dutchfield hockey player, who played as agoalkeeper for theDutch national team. Stockmann was announced FIH Best Goalkeeper of the World in 2014.[1][2]
In 2008 he was the reservegoalkeeper in the Dutch team that came in fourth at theOlympic Games inBeijing. At the2012 Summer Olympics and2016 Summer Olympics, he was the starting goalkeeper. Stockmann won the silver medal in 2012.[3] Stockmann has played forHC Bloemendaal in the Dutch League (Hoofdklasse). With HC Bloemendaal, he won theEuro Hockey League in the2008–09,2012–13 and2017–18 seasons. He also played for thePunjab Warriors in theHockey India League, and won the player of the tournament for the 2014 edition.[4]
