JIS University is aprivate research university located nearAgarpara,West Bengal,India[2] It was established in 2014 underTheJIS University Act, 2014 ofWest Bengal Legislative Assembly. JIS University is a multi-disciplinary, unitary & affiliating university, offering courses in engineering, technology, sciences, humanities, law, medicine, pharmacy and management studies.[3]
JIS University was established in 2014 through the Legislative Act of theGovernment of West Bengal, viz.The JIS University Act, 2014 (West Bengal Act XXII of 2014) that came into force in February, 2015 by the JIS Group Educational Initiatives, an educational conglomerate of Eastern India with 24 years of experience.
