J. T. Petty (born February 28, 1977) is an Americanfilmmaker andvideo game writer. Petty's film and short novels contain elements of thehorror genre. As writer for theUbisoft video gamesTom Clancy's Splinter Cell and its sequelTom Clancy's Splinter Cell: Pandora Tomorrow, Petty created the characterSam Fisher. He also wrote the survival horror gamesOutlast,Outlast 2 andThe Outlast Trials.
