Ivan Provedel (born 17 March 1994) is an Italian professionalfootballer who plays as agoalkeeper forSerie A clubLazio.[1]

Club career

Born inPordenone, Provedel began his youth career withUdinese in 2011 before moving toChievo in 2012, with whom he made his professional debut in 2013.

During the 2013–14 season, he played on loan forPisa inLega Pro Prima Divisione. The following season, he played on loan forPerugia inSerie B. He made his Serie B debut on 29 August 2014 againstBologna in a 2–1 home win.[2] In the summer of 2017, Provedel completed a transfer toEmpoli for €1.2 million.

On 22 January 2020, Provedel joinedJuve Stabia on loan.[3] On 7 February 2020, he scored the first goal of his career: a late equalizer in a 2–2 draw toAscoli.[4] On 5 October 2020, Provedel signed a two-year contract withSpezia.[5]

On 8 August 2022, Provedel moved toLazio.[6]

On 19 September 2023, Provedel scored a header for Lazio in their first group stage match of the2023–24 UEFA Champions League, a 90+5 minute equalizer to draw 1–1 at home againstAtlético Madrid.[7]This was the second goal of his career and the second open-play goal scored by a goalkeeper in theUEFA Champions League, afterSinan Bolat's goal forStandard Liège in2009 against AZ Alkmaar.[8]

International career

On 17 September 2022, Provedel received his firstItaly national team call-up, as managerRoberto Mancini named him to be part of the squad for theUEFA Nations League games againstEngland andHungary.[9]

Personal life

The youngest of six siblings, Provedel was born inPordenone to anItalian father and aRussian mother.[10] In 2016, his father Venanzio, a furniture sector entrepreneur, died at the age of 82.[11]
