
Italian seasoning is anblend of dried aromatic herbs that primarily includesbasil,oregano,rosemary,thyme, andmarjoram as its base. Many Italian ground seasoning blends may also include some of the following spices:parsley,sage,savory,coriander,mint,crushed red pepper, orgarlic powder.
Pre-blended dry herb mixtures are not common in Italy,[citation needed] and Italian seasoning is not found there.[1] However,seasoned salts, such assalamoiabolognese (consisting of rosemary, sage,garlic,salt, andblack pepper),[2] are used.
