The25th Anniversary Cup (Hebrew:גביע הכ"ה למדינה) was a stand-alone cup competition organized to celebrate the 25th anniversary of theIsraeli Declaration of Independence.
The competition was played at the end of the1972–73 season, while thenational football team was involved in the1974 FIFA World Cup qualification.[1] The cup was played as two competitions, forLiga Leumit and forLiga Alef.[2]
The Liga Leumit Cup was won byMaccabi Petah Tikva, who had beatenMaccabi Haifa in the final on penalties. The Liga Alef Cup was won byHapoel Yehud, having beatenHapoel Ramat Gan 2–0 in the final.
