Isothipendyl is a 1st generationH1 antagonist (antihistamine) andanticholinergic used as anantipruritic.[1] In the 2020s, at least, it is rarely used in the first line relief of allergies due to the anticholinergic side effect ofsomnolence but does have some limited use throughtopical application in the relief ofinsect bites and relateditching (pruritus).[citation needed]
