Islamic State Health Service (ISHS) (Arabic:الخدمات الصحية للدولة الإسلامية,romanized: al-Khidmāt al-ṣiḥḥīyah lil-dawlah al-Islāmīyah) was ahealthcare service run by theIslamic State, it was first shown in a propaganda video, the video and logo resembled anNHS logo and video presentation.[2]
It was first shown in 2015 in a propaganda video to show the "western media" is lying, and to show health advancements that theIslamic State has done,[3] the service was explained by aMelbourne-born Australian, under the alias ofAbu Yusuf.[4] The first buildings to be established by ISHS were constructed inRaqqa, Syria andMosul, Iraq.[5] It would then start growing inIraq more in places like Mosul andTikrit,[6] this would also boost more propaganda calling forSunni Muslims, specifically British and Australian to join the Islamic State and join the medical forces there.[7] It was also reported that a handful of femalephysicians were executed after not complying to treat members of the terrorist group and were replaced by male doctors in ISHS-run hospitals.[8] The service provided masspolio vaccines andcancer treatment for people living under Islamic State rule in Mosul hospitals.[9] TheUnited States Air Force would take out[vague] hospitals used to treat militants to slow down the Islamic State's fighting, and put an end[vague] to most of the hospitals run by ISHS.[10]
