Isaac Michael Collins (born July 22, 1997) is an American professionalbaseballleft fielder for theMilwaukee Brewers ofMajor League Baseball (MLB). He made his MLB debut in 2024.
A native ofMaple Grove, Minnesota, Collins graduated fromMaple Grove Senior High School in 2016.[1] He attendedCreighton University and playedcollege baseball for theCreighton Bluejays. Collins playedcollegiate summer baseball for theDuluth Huskies of theNorthwoods League in 2017 and for theWareham Gatemen of theCape Cod Baseball League in 2018.[2]
TheColorado Rockies selected Collins in the ninth round, with the 279th overall selection, of the2019 Major League Baseball draft.[3] He made his professional debut with the Low–ABoise Hawks, hitting .257 with 17 RBI over 37 games. Collins did not play in a game in 2020 due to the cancellation of the minor league season because of theCOVID-19 pandemic.[4]
Collins returned to action in 2021 with the Single–AFresno Grizzlies and High–ASpokane Indians. In 95 games split between the two affiliates, he accumulated a .308/.407/.475 batting line with nine home runs, 54 RBI, and 21 stolen bases.[5] Collins spent the 2022 campaign with the Double–AHartford Yard Goats, playing in 111 games and batting .221/.337/.347 with five home runs, 32 RBI, and 30 stolen bases.[6]
On December 7, 2022, Collins was selected by theMilwaukee Brewers in the minor league phase of theRule 5 draft.[7] He spent 2023 with the Double–ABiloxi Shuckers, and received a three–gamecup of coffee with the Triple–ANashville Sounds at the end of the season. In 93 games for Biloxi, Collins slashed .269/.424/.431 with 10 home runs, 44 RBI, and 29 stolen bases.[8]
Collins began the 2024 season with Nashville, hitting .273/.386/.475 with career–highs in home runs (14) and RBI (76) over 113 games. On September 8, 2024, Collins was selected to the40-man roster and promoted to the major leagues for the first time.[9] In 11 appearances for Milwaukee during his rookie campaign, Collins went 2-for-17 (.118) with one stolen base and two walks.[10]
On April 30, 2025, Collins hit his first career home run off ofTyler Gilbert of theChicago White Sox.[11] Collins was named theNational League Rookie of the Month for July after going 25-for-78 (.321) with four stolen bases and eleven walks.[12] On August 10, Collins hit a walk-off home run off ofEdwin Diaz to defeat theNew York Mets 7-6 atAmerican Family Field. The next day, he was named the National League Player of the Week for August 4–10, a span in which he batted .476 (10–21) with six runs, two home runs, eight RBI, and an OPS of 1.529.[13]
